These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SPEC-NAV service ("SPEC-NAV", "we", "us", or "our"), including the website, web application, and related services located at SPEC-NAV.com (the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
SPEC-NAV is operated from California, United States.
2. Nature of the Service (Informational Tool Only)
SPEC-NAV is an AI-assisted search, navigation, and reference tool designed to help users locate, understand, and reference relevant sections within official manuals, standards, codes, specifications, policies, and similar documents (collectively, "Official Publications").
IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION:
SPEC-NAV does NOT host, sell, distribute, reproduce, or provide access to Official Publications themselves.
SPEC-NAV PROVIDES:
- Search, navigation, and reference functionality
- Informational summaries and explanations
- Limited excerpts for identification and verification purposes only
SPEC-NAV does NOT:
- Replace Official Publications
- Serve as an authoritative or official source
- Provide engineering, legal, architectural, safety, or other professional advice
- Guarantee completeness, accuracy, or applicability to any specific project, jurisdiction, or situation
You are solely responsible for:
- Consulting the actual Official Publications issued by the relevant authority
- Verifying all requirements directly in the source documents
- Consulting qualified professionals where required
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, codes, and standards
3. No Professional Relationship
Use of the Service does not create any professional, fiduciary, engineer–client, lawyer–client, consultant–client, or advisory relationship between you and SPEC-NAV.
Nothing provided through the Service constitutes:
- A project-specific determination
- A formal engineering decision
- A legal opinion
- An official interpretation or position of any authority having jurisdiction
4. Accounts and Access
Certain features require account registration. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information
- Maintain the security of your credentials
- Accept responsibility for activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion for misuse, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
4.1 Free Plan Search Limits
Users on the Free plan are limited to five (5) searches per week. Limits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Unused searches do not roll over.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service unlawfully or in violation of third-party rights
- Scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, or extract system prompts, models, or outputs at scale
- Represent SPEC-NAV outputs as official, binding, or authoritative
- Use the Service to build or train a competing product using our interface, prompts, or workflows
The Service is intended for lawful internal business, professional, or educational use only.
6. Subscriptions, Fees, and No-Refund Policy
Paid subscriptions grant access to SPEC-NAV's software features and tools only.
Subscriptions do NOT grant:
- Ownership of any documents
- Rights to redistribute Official Publications
- Access to restricted or proprietary source materials
ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
No refunds or credits are provided for:
- Partial subscription periods
- Unused usage limits
- Dissatisfaction with results
- Changes in your needs
Any discretionary refund does not create an obligation for future refunds.
7. Third-Party Content and Links
The Service may reference or link to third-party websites or official sources. We do not control and are not responsible for:
- The content or accuracy of third-party materials
- Updates, revisions, or availability of Official Publications
Access to third-party resources is at your own risk.
8. No Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE".
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:
- Accuracy or completeness
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPEC-NAV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
(a) Fees paid in the six (6) months preceding the claim, or
(b) USD $100.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SPEC-NAV from claims arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your reliance on outputs
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
11. Page References and Citations
Any page or "near page" references are approximate and based on digital viewer positioning. They may not correspond to printed page numbers. You must verify citations directly in the source document.
12. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
